Francis Mackie has joined law firm Edwards Angell Palmer & Dodge (EAPD) as a partner in the firm’s London office. He joins on the same day the firm opens its new London office at Dashwood. Mackie was previously a partner with Dewey & LeBoeuf in London.
‘We are very fortunate to have Francis join our team,’ says David Kendall, co-chair of EAPD’s Insurance and Reinsurance practice. ‘He is well known in the London insurance market, has a stellar reputation, and is a tremendous asset not only to EAPD’s growing international insurance and reinsurance practice, but also to EAPD’s London office and the entire firm.’
Mackie’s practice is predominantly in contentious/dispute work involving arbitration, commercial court proceedings and mediation. Many of his arbitration proceedings are in market disputes, usually for reinsurers, and consist of coverage disputes, construction issues, and recision/cancellation issues, in such areas as aviation, marine reinsurance, commercial, property, financial lines/D&O, PR/CF, contingency risks and energy risks/disputes. His client base covers Europe, the USA, the Far East and the Middle East.
