Insurance and Reinsurance Legacy (IRLA)
Formerly the Association of Run-off Companies (ARC), IRLA is a not for profit organisation run for and by its members, all of whom have an interest in the re/insurance run-off and legacy markets. The new name reflects the changing and increasingly global nature of run-off, which many insurance professionals now refer to as the 'legacy sector'. The association was formed in 1998 through the desire of companies with discontinued business to exercise more influence over new processes, and to be involved at all consultative stages in claims-related developments. Since that time, IRLA has expanded its services and now organises numerous market events and educational courses. The IRLA website contains information about the association and its activities, papers and articles relating to the run-off sector, plus news of forthcoming events including the annual IRLA Congress.
